Ventilation and air circulation
One of the easiest ways to get rid of unpleasant smells in the house is regular ventilation. Open windows and doors to allow fresh air to circulate throughout the home. Airflow helps remove odors from the kitchen, bathroom and other rooms where moisture and odors often collect. If possible, also use fans or air conditioning to help keep the air clean and fresh.
Use of natural odour absorbers
You can also use natural remedies you have at home to absorb unpleasant odours. Baking soda is an excellent odour absorber; just pour it into small bowls and place them in the places where odours are most common, such as fridges, pantries or cupboards. Vinegar is another effective odour neutraliser. You can pour it into a bowl and leave it on for a few hours, or mix it with water and spray it into the air.

Regular cleaning and tidying
Unpleasant odours often arise from accumulated dirt and bacteria, which is why regular cleaning and household cleaning is important. Focus on the places where odours are most likely to accumulate – such as the kitchen, bathroom, bins and carpets. Use cleaners with antibacterial properties and don’t forget to clean fabrics such as curtains, carpets and upholstered furniture, which can easily absorb odours.
Use of essential oils and scented candles
You can also use essential oils and scented candles to make your home smell pleasant. Essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus or citrus not only make your home smell fresh, but also have antibacterial and disinfectant properties. You can add them to diffusers or mix them with water and spray them around the room. Scented candles and aroma lamps are another great way to eliminate unpleasant smells and create a pleasant atmosphere in the home.
